Typing Tutor

Clicking on the title above will take you to an online touch-typing
(typing without looking at the keys) program. You may choose to
either download this program or practice online.

The second page of this website offers the options of going to the
lessons section or pasting a writing sample for practice. For those of
you who are still becoming acquainted with typing on a keyboard,
beginning with the lessons is recommended.

When you are ready to practice copying text, you can start with this
paragraph. To copy it, place the mouse cursor (arrow) at the top of
this paragraph and press down on the left-click button on your mouse.
Hold that button down as you move your cursor over the printed
words and they will change to a different color. Once you have
changed (highlighted) as much as you wish to copy, lift your finger from
the mouse button.

Next, click on 'Edit' at the top of your computer screen and choose
'Paste'.
Now you may open the typing tutor as usual. When you get to the
second page of that program, follow the directions for pasting text in
the box.
Speed is
important in
writing your
essay, but don't
forget to
organize your
thoughts before
you begin to
type!
